in the mid 90s at Center Stage Music in Renton Washington
and eventually expanded to Merridian MS in the Kent School
District and
taught for 3 years at Lakota MS in Federal Way. I taught at
the
Kennelly Keys
stores in Seattle and Bellevue for many years as well as the
Donn
Bennett Drum Shop.
If you or your child are interested in studying drums with me and you live in the greater Seattle area. I now teach at the A Sharp Music Company in Renton, at my home in North Seattle, as well as Eckstein MS and Roosevelt HS in the Seattle School District.
Emphasis is on rudimental development as applied to snare drum and drum set. Students will develop a basic understanding of all styles including rock, jazz & bebop, blues, funk, and latin and learn reading skills, groove lock, and improvisation skills in the process. Advanced students will learn several approaches to 4-way independent coordination as well as linear coordination techniques. Us drummers love to play drums. Be prepared to practice every day and have a great time!
